Sea. Time VS Beach-life.
This photos show how the sea and sea foam seem to wash off and preserve a part of the beach life with its’ people, characters, food, clothes, traditions.
A very old film and exposure with foam gives us to feel it. One cannot tell were these shots taken at the beginning of the century, 50s or 80s, or the day before yesterday.
All photos aren’t staged and were taken in 2016
Khatia Basilashvili – Me
In the endless search for spiritual peace and physical self-control, I found my way of expressing my inner vision. Immediately I found peace. That peace pulled out my hidden pain and feelings from the very depths of my soul, which took the form of photos. I began to remember the forgotten dreams and study my body, to see and feel the beauty that I thought I lost after giving birth my baby.
Life stress forced me tto lock myself in one psychological room. I was looking and observing everything from it’s window. Through the gaze of my husband, my son, I saw beauty that I could not feel by myself. I was able to find the orientation and the relationship with world in the mirror. Windows and mirrors are important attributes of my photo shoots. Without them I could not express my opinion. I am a woman who was lost in her fears and complexes after the birth of her son and found salvation only in front of the camera.
These photos are a very short description of my state of soul, which is emotionally closely connected to me. I still try not to kill it in myself or hide it in forgotten parts of my brain. I have to handle it.
